Job Description

This position will work with the Internal Audit Professional Practices Team to deliver the Internal Audit Quality Assurance Program. The individual will play a key role in influencing positive change throughout the audit department and will participate on other special projects, as applicable.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Development and execution of a formal Internal Audit Quality Assurance Program, including objective audit engagement quality reviews and monitoring Internal Audit's adherence to the IIA's International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and various regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying best practices; recommending and championing audit process changes; identifying, analyzing and communicating themes, and results.
  • Determining and implementing ways to increase consistency, effectiveness and efficiency of workpaper preparation.
  • Developing and facilitating training.
  • Developing internal audit colleagues.
  • Maintaining working relationships with bank management, regulatory agencies, and the broader audit team in order to effectively and efficiently execute quality assurance responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in bank audit, audit consulting in a banking environment, or audit quality assurance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA, CIA or demonstrated progress toward certification.
  • Experience in planning and executing audit projects in accordance with professional standards.
  • In-depth understanding of audit methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; must be comfortable presenting results and recommendations to management.
  • Proven track record of building good working relationships and influencing change.
  • Strong project management skills; must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, effective under pressure and willing to take personal responsibility/accountability.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial services.
