Job Description

Internal Audit is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Team Lead position. As a lead and an active participant, this position will be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of multiple audit engagements within Huntington's Private Banking, Trust and Broker-Dealer (Wealth) business units.

  • The Team Lead will be exposed primarily to Wealth business units focused on testing the key risks primarily impacting high net worth products.
  • The Team Lead will concurrently supervise and coordinate planning, execution and reporting of multiple audit engagements and interact with management during audit engagements.
  • Audits will be performed in accordance with department and professional standards.
  • The Team Lead will interact with various compliance, financial and technology auditors while performing their responsibilities.
  • Specific audit responsibilities will involve supervising, or in-charging, the planning and execution of control and substantive testing, and evaluating audit results to determine if issues exist and improvement recommendations are necessary.
  • The Team Lead will develop key management relationships for ongoing monitoring of their business areas.
  • Potential to travel (approximately 15 %)


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 or more years of Public Accounting, Internal Audit, Wealth Business Segment (including Private Banking, Trust, and/or Broker-Dealer), Risk Management, or Compliance experience. This may be a combination of experience and education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preference: Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business.
  • Supervising execution of audit engagements requires the Team Lead candidate to have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to supervise staff, monitor audit engagement progress to meet deadlines and interact with management.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and/or core banking processes preferred.
  • Professional certification (CPA, CIA, CFIRS, FINRA Licenses, etc.) or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
