Job Description

As the Brand Manager for Huntington Bank, your job is to oversee the brand's numerous marketing programs with a strong strategic left brain and a vibrant creative right brain. On a day-to-day basis, you'll be guiding Huntington's advertising and the creative teams that bring it to life. You'll be crawling into the customer's head, figuring out what matters most to them and how we can help. You'll be listening to the strategies of Product Managers, helping them crystalize their value propositions, and then translating for Designers, Copywriters, Videographers, and Coders. And most importantly, you'll be creating great work -- a marketing platform full of storytelling that you'll hold up as some of the greatest of your career. This role reports to the Brand Director, on the Brand Marketing team, which helps drive the Marketing vision at a company that truly values great creative.

Key Responsibilities

- Guiding Creative: Huntington's agencies and creative partners turn out a steady current of marketing work, and the Brand Manager is responsible for guiding it -- from its strategic beginnings through creative development to final production. This requires the ability to develop strong and trusted relationships with our agencies, in order to turn out great creative that's on brand and on strategy in Round 1. The creative will range from upper funnel brand positioning work (such as advertising and digital content), to middle and lower funnel conversion work (such as promotional and sales content).

- Analyzing Brand Performance: Perceptions of the Huntington brand shift with culture and the banking industry. The Brand Manager is responsible for tracking the performance of the Huntington brand, and mining research for insights that could affect the trajectory of our positioning, value propositions, and creative storytelling.

- Market Knowledge and Analysis: The Brand Manager will be asked to provide regular reporting on:

  • Competitive Analysis: Marketing strategies, brand positionings, and product or service innovations.
  • Consumer Insights: Trends in financial behaviors and the broader culture.
  • Media Innovations: Trends in media consumption habits and marketing tactics.

  Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of consumer marketing experience in a corporate or agency environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial services and/or consumer goods' marketing is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A good handle on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Executive presence and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience designing and managing complex, multi-channel marketing campaigns.
  • Experience managing agencies and production vendors, and getting great work out of them.
  • An exceptional customer barometer. The ability to put yourself in the customer's shoes.
  • Strong relationship building skills. The ability to collaborate effectively across broad stakeholder groups.
