Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer

As a Business Intelligence Analyst/Developer, you will be filling a unique role of both Analyst and Developer taking ownership of maintaining and innovating current BI deliverables of Huntington's large and diverse population of end users. You will work closely with business users, the project development team, and the training/rollout team with a focus on gathering requirements for, developing and delivering innovative, non-project-specific enhancements to meet the evolving needs of Huntington's end user community with a focus on Self Service BI.

This position will be required to maintain and enhance current MicroStrategy BI deliverables/applications as needed, ensure delivery of high quality solutions that meet IT standards/guidelines, and supports business needs for information insights around our customers and bank processes.

The preferred candidate for this position will have an innovative, collaborative, end-user self-service mentality with the ability to translate business need into development requirements and deliver on those requirements while looking for ways to continuously enhance and simplify the overall BI schema. This role requires the ability to work quickly with meticulous attention to detail, the ability to juggle many tasks in parallel without lowering the quality bar, and the ability to effectively collaborate with the extended BI team to ensure the highest quality product delivery. Detailed Job Description

Understand, Support and Enhance Current Deliverables

  • Develop an inventory of deliverables and process for keeping them current
  • Update and maintain documented BI delivery standards to meet Self Service needs
  • Work with Business Teams to update common business data definitions (object names, descriptions and foldering to meet self-service business needs)
  • Model additional fields into MicroStrategy schema to support enhanced Self Service needs
  • Understand current deliverables and make recommendations for enhancements based on:
    • Gaps in functional delivery
    • Gaps in delivery according to documented standards
    • Evolution of end user needs
    • Evolution of self service needs
  • Refresh the Look and Feel to keep current with evolving business needs

Work with Extended BI Teams to

  • Find and deliver on opportunities for Innovation using new functionality and technology
  • Evolve and further solidify cohesive schema layer to enhance Single Source of Truth delivery and Self Service capabilities
    • Resolve semantic duplications and discrepancies in data definitions that arise among multiple sources and projects
    • Support project BSAs with verifying project design properly enhances current schema layer

Take on the Role of Lead BI Innovator

  • Investigate and determine how to apply emerging BI technologies where appropriate.
  • Stay on top of product decommissions and advancements to determine impact to current environment, make recommendations for enhancement, and implement where appropriate.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or an additional 4 years of Information Technology experience
  • Minimum 5 years Information Technology working with Business Intelligence projects
  • Minimum 2 years MicroStrategy Development

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS SQL query building, troubleshooting experience required
  • BI Innovator with ability to work across segments to deliver on reporting/analytical objectives
  • MicroStrategy Release 10.x experience preferred
  • MicroStrategy Standalone Desktop tool experience a plus
  • BI Certifications desirable, preferably related to MicroStrategy
  • Experience supporting BI end user communities
  • Understanding of Data Warehousing, Star Schema design
  • Understanding of core bank terminology, products and customers preferred
  • Ability to work independently and multi task within a collaborative work environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational and analytical skills
