Position: Compliance Section Manager -- Digital Team Support

Reporting to the Digital Compliance Group Manager, this Compliance Section Manager ("CSM") will assist with day-to-day compliance support for Huntington's Digital (Online and Mobile) segment and Omni-Channel initiatives. The CSM will build strong working relationships with management, segment risk, and key business partners to identify emerging risks, manage regulatory change, and develop appropriate risk response strategies. He or she will also serve an important role in ensuring the business unit is managing, monitoring, and escalating risks within the Corporate Compliance risk management framework.

Specific duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Partner with senior business management to identify emerging risks, manage regulatory change, and develop appropriate risk response strategies
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of Digital projects and initiatives to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Review business requirements documents, wireframes and customer facing content and training materials for best practices and compliance with laws and regulations applicable to online, mobile and other electronic provisions of financial products and services
  • Perform periodic risk assessments of business unit
  • Through an understanding of applicable regulations, ensure a robust monitoring and testing program is in place to identify and mitigate key risks
  • Work closely with Segment Risk and the Business Units to ensure compliance program is integrated into the enterprise Compliance Risk Management Program
  • Provide subject matter expertise on applicable regulations, including newly issued rules and regulations, and communicate guidance consistently to business unit
  • Develop proactive strategies to address emerging risks or regulatory themes that may impact the program in the future
  • Provide regular reporting and updates to applicable risk committees
  • Develop collaborative relationships with senior and executive business management so that Corporate Compliance can help Huntington meet its risk objectives
  • Assist Corporate Compliance with other enterprise compliance projects or initiatives as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree. Four additional years of segment-specific Compliance, Legal or Risk experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in regulatory compliance or risk management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Digital or Consumer Deposits in a Risk or Compliance perspective
  • Familiar with CFPB, FFIEC, OCC, and other regulatory agency guidance, rules and examination processes
  • Ability to interpret regulations both technically and using a principles-based approach
  • Proficient application of risk assessment and risk management methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
  • High degree of comfort presenting to senior and executive management
  • Experience helping an organization manage through high levels of regulatory and organization change
  • Advanced degree or certification a plus (e.g., CRCM)
