Job Description

The Huntington National Bank has an exciting opportunity for a junior attorney to join a dynamic, growing legal department providing mission-critical advice to one of the largest banks in the country. In this newly created role reporting to a senior associate general counsel and located in Huntington's corporate headquarters in Columbus, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing legal advice in a wide variety of areas related to Huntington's deposits operations.

Deposits Counsel Job Description:


• Analyze and advise on new federal regulations, including those related to FDIC Insurance requirements;
• Monitor, summarize and communicate new guidance issued by federal regulators on BSA/AML/OFAC topics.
• Analyze and advise on consumer deposit regulations, draft terms and conditions for new deposit products or changes to existing disclosures.

Basic Qualifications:


• Juris Doctor Degree, law review or top 10% preferred
• Member of Ohio bar or eligible for corporate counsel status
• 1 to 3 years relevant in-house or law firm experience in reviewing and analyzing state or federal banking laws and statutes and regulations applicable to the activities of national banks

Other Traits and Qualifications:


• Strong attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in learning new substantive areas of law, and ability to quickly grasp unfamiliar legal concepts
• Strong communication skills; written and verbal. Adept at concisely explaining complex legal requirements to business partners
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate time lines, delivery dates and resolve conflict.
