Job Description

Counterparty Credit Administration is a niche team that serves the Chief Credit Officer. The team is responsible for managing the credit risk associated with all financial assets other than traditional loan and lease assets. This includes approval and monitoring of the Bank's OTC derivative, Investment, Trade Finance and Insurance related relationships.

The Credit Risk / Reporting Specialist will assist with a 2018 initiative to further automate departmental reporting and underwriting tools utilizing their SAS/SQL skills while serving internal clients. Additional responsibilities will include analyzing investment securities, underwriting financial institution counterparties, recommending credit lines, aggregating exposure, writing reports and assist with managing credit risk generated by the Bank's Investment, Capital Markets and Balance Sheet Management activities.

  • Developing, improving, evaluating and leveraging tools/methods for quantifying credit risk, including potential future exposure that results from interest rate, exchange rate, commodity, and securities price volatility.
  • Evaluating counterparty credit quality, primarily of financial institutions such as banks, broker-dealers and insurance companies.
  • Aggregating exposure generated by all Bank activities for each financial institution counterparty.
  • Assisting with the refinement of policies and procedures that govern counterparty and investment credit risks.
  • Underwriting and monitoring Corporate Treasury investments including, but not limited to, REITs, Municipal bonds, corporate bonds and asset-backed securities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ years of analytical experience in a academic or professional setting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years' of analysis including SQL or SAS experience
  • Statistically literate and comfortable with financial models and model validation techniques
  • Experience with SNL and Bloomberg
  • Prior experience working with large data sets in a Capital Markets environment is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of capital markets, investments and financial derivatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong experience with Excel
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and contributing to solving problems with little precedent
  • Strong problem solving ability
  • Punctual with attention to details
  • Solid organizational skills
