Customer Messaging Strategist 

Location: Columbus, Ohio (downtown)

The Brand Innovation team within marketing is responsible for defining and driving transformational change, with the customer experience at the center. Our goal is to listen to what consumers need, and define experiences and drive innovation, building on those needs.

The Customer Messaging Strategist will develop, implement and refine customized customer journeys, looking out for Huntington customers by ensuring they know the most important things happening with their money. This messaging will improve the customer experience, increase retention of customers and lead to deeper customer relationships.

This strategist will be a collaborator -- working with teams around Huntington to bring various journeys to life, always looking for ways to refine and improve. The strategist will care about and empathize with the customer, looking out for them with each message. In addition, the strategist will need to be familiar with analyzing campaigns, working with the Huntington analytics team to measure the success of the messages.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing compelling insights to let customers know the most important thing they need to know about their money
  • Creating, implementing and refining messaging that improves the customer experience and increases revenue and retention
    • Solid understanding of KPIs and campaign measurement
    • Managing the messaging administrative tool:
      • Ensuring messages are consistent with the Huntington brand
      • Compliant
      • Measure engagement
      • Run tests
  • Working with data science and analytics team to coordinate interaction of insights and models
  • Constantly refining insights through testing and engagement measurement
  • Working with business lines to create segmentation, develop messaging journeys and prioritize insights

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of customer-centered marketing or external communications experience that includes strategy development, communication or innovations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Creative writing experience
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with business segments on consumer messaging with customer at the center
  • Customer-oriented
  • Self-motivated, proactive problem-solver
  • Track record of collaboration among cross-functional teams
  • Ability to quickly adapt and maintain a flexible approach
