Job Description

The Deal Management Program Consultant will be responsible for partnering across Commercial Bank segments supporting the Relationship Manager and other sales colleagues in assigned regions to develop and tailor messages and implement insight-based sales techniques and strategies on complex, large-scale opportunities and/or high-profile sales opportunities including:

  • Serves as a strategic consultant and advisor to the sale, managing consistent and strategic execution of the sales process

  • Provides guidance, leadership, and coaching to the sales team to understand the customer's needs, buying team, conducting thorough discovery and assisting in developing the recommendation, partner engagement and meeting cadence

  • Identifies and coordinates all required team members and tasks in a project management capacity to drive the sales opportunity through the sales cycle

  • Drives the team, internal and external, needed to manage the creation and execution of the sales strategy, recommendation and presentation(s) required to "win the deal"

  • Works collaboratively with the sales team to craft custom pitches, provides support for meeting coordination, coordinates and leads pre-call planning & debrief meetings

  • Builds solid business relationships across the CML segments, driving new business, pipeline growth, and relationship deepening for the Deal Management program

  • Communicates and celebrates sales successes broadly to build awareness of the sales culture

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Minimum of five (5) years' of sales experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least five years of bank sales experience selling financial products and services to customers.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
    Experience working across multiple lines of business and segments

  • Strong communication, leadership and conflict resolution skills

  • Proven ability to effectively and professionally interact with customers

  • Understanding of complex sales cycles and/or solution sales methodologies

  • Ability to think logically about complex situations and critically about the development of a deal strategy and recommendation

  • Strong leadership and oratory skills with experience communicating to all levels of an organization
    Ability to enforce accountability across team members (in a non-direct report environment)

  • Challenger Sales knowledge and experience

  • A creative and curious thinker

  • Broad knowledge of multiple lines of business and products across the bank

  • Strong consulting skills, someone that can gain the trust and confidence of both the internal team and the customer to earn the right to be consultative
