Huntington Bank is looking for a platform manager in our Data Technology organization. In this role you will lead a team dedicated to pushing the limits of continuous improvement and innovation using data technology as a lever. As the ETL Platform Manager, you will report to the Director of Data Platforms, and work closely with the Chief Data & Architecture Office organization to enable and inform the business and technology strategies for our long-term data strategy and vision for the company.

If you consider data as a strategic asset, evangelize the value of good data and insights, are an experienced thought-leader in data platforms, have deep understanding of data infrastructure, and love building teams and mentoring talent, this role is for you.

Your team will be responsible for the enterprise integration platform for EDW and Customer Master, including innovations in efficiency and enabling next-generation capabilities. You will participate in the definition of the strategic roadmap for data technology and be responsible for executing data platform initiatives. You will partner with other Data Technology organization and CDAO leads to architect and enable an effective data ecosystem, as well as key leaders in business and technology to understand and support their needs.

Your team will get support for governing, architecting and administrating platform solutions; your internal clients will use the platform and infrastructure for data integration and implementing business processes. The data integration platform team will be responsible for managing and meeting service levels (technology currency, capacity, availability), and access management -- supporting the enterprise through an evolutionary progression of its data ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the platform integration team, utilizing IBM Infosphere platform tools: Infogix, DataStage, Business Glossary & InfoAnalyzer, Test Data Management, and System Balancing Tool
  • Provide leadership to perform ITIL functions: monitoring, administration, SLAs, capacity planning, access management
  • Lead Platform Upgrade efforts and software patch updates
  • Improve existing processes in providing best service to the ETL developers, and service levels for users of the platform
  • Implement controls and alerts to monitor load and identify spikes
  • Provide thought-leadership in data integration technology, define approaches for technology currency and maximizing performance, and develop consensus for innovation
  • Partner with ETL COE team in publishing standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with development teams, infrastructure and production support teams
  • Recognize upstream and downstream impacts
  • Create short- and long-term work plans and estimates based on customer priorities
  • Maintain and groom an application backlog, including technical debt
  • Manage to SLAs, including incidents, uptime and production support events

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience with ETL tools and deep understanding of data integration technology
  • 4+ years of experience managing a data platform
  • Experience leading ETL administrators and guiding team members regarding process, procedures, standards and best practices
  • Experience with IBM InfoSphere, Datastage & Governance product suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • An additional 4 years or related military or equivalent professional certification will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with modern data architecture and integration approaches, including python, ELT, data lakes/analytical sandboxes, REST/SOAP APIs, streaming, unstructured data handling, pipelines, event-based processing, unstructured/document, elastic virtual infrastructures and cloud integration
  • Understanding of SOA concepts and Master Data Management
  • Experience with IBM InfoSphere, Datastage & Governance product suite
  • Experience providing shared services to multiple teams
  • Experience in Financial Services industry or with financial applications

  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to build and manage a high-performing team, work with partners to set and meet business service level agreement levels, and plan and deliver work to expectations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting and collaborating with developers, analysts, and business staff throughout the organization
