Job Description

Position Summary:

Provide technical support to risk advisors, account executives, account managers and other team members as directed. Possess high level of product knowledge and technical skills. Ability to follow workflows and processes as detailed in agency procedures. Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality control. Manage a significant volume of tasks and assist with complex accounts. Collaborate with team to resolve any quality issues. Provide assistance in the production of new and renewal business as applicable.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain responsibility for self-management and development
    1. Meet with supervisor to ensure alignment and gain agreement on goals and performance standards
    2. Maintain excellent performance standards and act as a role model and/or mentor to other colleagues.
    3. Record updates to goal achievements as indicated throughout year
    4. Possess knowledge of insurance industry changes and trends
    5. Identify training needs and work with supervisor to obtain appropriate training
    6. Maintain and develop product line knowledge through participation in educational opportunities
    7. Act as a resource for continuous improvement initiatives
    8. Comply with Agency Procedures
      1. Comply with corporate and agency policies and procedures and all subsequent updates
      2. Adhere to agency service standards and timelines
      3. Utilize agency technology and software applications including agency management systems, document management systems and workflows
      4. Comply with procedures as outlined in the Huntington Employee Handbook
      5. Provide Customer Service to Agency Clients
        1. Respond to internal and external service inquiries within optimal time frames
        2. Collaborate with risk advisors and other team members to address client services needs
        3. Monitor outstanding service requests and address in established timeframes
        4. Assist in the Preparation and Delivery of Client Documents
          1. a. 75% of workload is anticipated in support of Mid to Large Commercial P&C client service functions, including requested certificate and necessary endorsement processing, performing coverage and contract review, carrier rating sheet analysis and preparation of premium allocations, in support of the client needs.
          2. b. 5% of workload is anticipated in preparation of Mid to Large Commercial P&C SMART strategy documents, including, Written Service Timelines, Stewardship reports and Policy and/or Loss Summaries, as well as other SMART Strategy tools as developed.
          3. c. 20% of workload is anticipated for technical support of the Surety Bond Team, including identifying bond discrepancies between Erlon and Sagitta systems and necessary data clean up, Tracking of Erlon Bid Bond activity, including researching client low bid awards, Assisting with Surety new business set up, Pulling bond forms (BX), Performing proactive outreach on client license & permit bond renewals to verify and execute those necessary to process, Obtaining carrier continuation certificates and processing necessary renewals and invoicing, Support in processing of HNB Notary Bond requests.
          4. Assist in the new business and renewal marketing process as requested, if applicable
          5. Update client data in agency and carrier systems as required
          6. Work with risk advisors and account managers to obtain required data throughout the marketing process if applicable
          7. Assist in the preparation of summary, proposal and other documents if applicable
          8. Review policies and other documents for quality assurance requirements in accordance with agency procedures
          9. Request changes and corrections as identified during the quality assurance review
          10. Process and invoice policy transactions as requested
          11. Participate in Agency Growth Initiatives
            1. Identify account rounding and cross sell opportunities
            2. Recognize referral opportunities and submit prospects as appropriate
            3. Assist risk advisors with new business prospecting activities if applicable
            4. Maintain Agency Data
              1. Maintain and update client and policy data per agency procedures
              2. Utilize agency management, workflow and diary systems to ensure timely service and follow up
              3. Document correspondence, conversations and tasks in agency systems following agency procedures and workflows.
              4. Assist in Colleague Development
                1. Serve as a technical and process resource as requested
                2. Assist with colleague training as requested
                3. Corporate Initiative
                  1. Participate in corporate projects and initiatives
                  2. Assist with workflow development and implementation to support corporate initiatives
                  3. Perform other duties as assigned by management

Quality Assurance:

  1. Adhere to bank policies and procedures and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  2. Maintain and follow effective controls and processes to ensure risks are measured, monitored and controlled.
  3. Adhere to compliance requirements on an on-going basis.
  4. Maintain knowledge of risk-related changes that could impact assigned work functions and processes.

 Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma

Minimum of 3 years experience in the Commercial Property and Casualty Insurance Industry

Active Resident Major Lines Property and Casualty Insurance License preferred
