Detailed Description:
*Ensures the optimal performance and high availability of database systems and services whilst meeting or exceeding our Service Level Objectives
*Provides guidance to other database engineers to expand the role and capabilities of the database environment; Proven experience in team building and collaboration
*Works with multiple teams technology professionals and facilitate collaboration across Development, Operational and non-technical stakeholders
*Provides technical leadership for large and/or complex business efforts
*Serves as a technical expert on efficiency practices around databases and especially the SQL Server platform that will drive optimal technology utilization
*Serves as a technical expert in HA, DR, Security, Database Installations
*Supports implementation of new releases of DBMS software; plan and implement new features where appropriate
*Works in a fast-paced environment and rapidly develop proficiency in new skills
*Thinks and acts out-of-the-box in identifying opportunities in team's daily work along with executing and completing tasks that are highly visible
*Adopts and embraces automation practices across the various technical platforms and domains
*Participates in an On-Call support rotation
*Leads efforts to guide team to best practices for database usage, high availability and business continuity
*Coordinates larger-sized projects through assignment of tasks and managing the workload of staff
*Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members
*Documents and implements complex medium-to large-scale projects and deliver presentations with minimal supervision
*Prepares periodic reports regarding unit's activities and goal attainment
*Defines, documents, and implements consistent standards across systems
*Articulates the business value and impact of advanced technical and non-technical information with ease and know when to seek more experienced management assistance
*Recognized as a positive leader and frequently provides feedback and strategic recommendations to management
*Creates detailed documentation for functional or technical design that can be understood and used by all project participants
*Provides effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue
*Affects change within sphere of influence and lead development of innovative improvements
*Designs and delivers sound technical and functional solutions that are thoroughly tested
*Establish and maintain effective working relationships with business partners and departments
*Provides regular status updates to project participants and management
*Maintains current professional and technical skills

Basic Qualifications:
*Min 7 years of experience in MS SQL Sever database administration discipline which includes min 2 yrs of team lead experience
*Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications:
*Advanced working knowledge and understanding of SQL Server. Exposure to Cloud (AWS/Azure) is an add-on.
*In depth experience with MS SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2014 and 2016
*Advanced skills in Always On SQL Server technology
*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
*Advanced skills in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting experience
*Advanced Windows Operating System
*Advanced SQL skills including use and optimization techniques
*High level knowledge of key business drivers measures, processes and challenges
*Ability to think more broadly about data management and information architectural concepts and principles
*Strong collaboration skills and ability to promote ideas and advocate for change
*Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and Desired State Configuration
*Good overall exposure to various technology stacks like Storage, Network, OS and databases
*Past experience working as a programmer/coder is highly beneficial
*Advanced use of DBA tools to troubleshoot database performance problems
*Familiarity with and capable of enforcing technology management practices such as CI/CD (Continous Integration/Continuous Delivery).
