Job Description

Our Model Risk Management Governance Manager will manage the model risk governance team and oversee the implementation of model risk management framework across the bank. The governance team is expected to collaborate with Segment Risk Officers and model owners/users throughout the organization to ensure MRM policy is implemented in accordance with regulatory guidance and the Bank's model risk policy. Responsibilities and job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Collaborate with model owners and users across different lines of business including market risk, interest rate risk, credit risk, marketing analytics, fraud, capital planning, and AML/BSA.
  • Review and assess enterprise wide model risk framework including model validation, documentation, ongoing monitoring, model implementation, and model change management; identifying gaps and creating/implementing remediation plans where appropriate.
  • Manage relationships with third party/co-sourced validation teams and ensure engagements comply with Huntington standards and policy.
  • Develop risk reporting for senior management around key model risk management metrics, validation schedule, control testing, and outstanding issues.
  • Coordinate exam requests with internal and external examiners, including internal audit and regulators.
  • Manage action plans for regulatory and audit findings; ensure appropriate remediation actions are in place, drive to completion, and escalate risks as appropriate.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of model risk module within Huntington's Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS); ensure appropriate reporting, controls, and processes are in place around module and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Ensure model inventory, model change management processes, and model approvals are obtained.
  • Facilitate validation process with model validation and model owners; ensure identified issues are managed, escalated as needed, and drive projects to completion.
  • Perform risk assessment of the model risk framework as part of Huntington's overall Operational Risk pillar.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of bank risk management experience with a financial institution
