Brief Description:

The Solution Engineer function will be responsible for the Strategy, Planning and Budgeting of infrastructure solutions.

Detailed Description:

• People Skills -- This is an interactive position- bringing people/teams together in delivery of a common goal and foster team work. Broad organizational knowledge (who's who and responsible for what) to help drive ownership and accountability to appropriate teams/resources
• Technical Acumen -- Overall understandings of network structured cabling and compute technologies that support Branch and Corporate office type locations and the critical factors and related interdependencies between these. Focus of the position is not on configuration and rather working with the other Engineering Teams, Technology Groups, and vendors to determine the best design, solution, and approach. When the current standard designs do not support or meet the overall solution need, drive and proactively work with the appropriate teams to establish strategic direction.
• Big Picture Thinking -- Understanding how the network, structured cabling and compute technologies play into the broader Huntington organizational goals. With emerging technologies and drive towards standards, how to take advantage of and apply maximum benefit (reduced costs, resource efficiency, improved customer experience, stability, etc.)
• Financial Acumen --Understanding the importance of financially running an infrastructure organization and the related flows of funds with appropriate recovery and tracking for Capital, Expense, and Resource Time.
• Focus on Delivery and Execution -- Working with the Project Management Office, accountability and ownership to make sure our engineering teams, vendor partners and line of business are driving implementation timeframes. As Risk and Issues arise, proactively working with the appropriate groups to mitigate and communicate to appropriate levels of management by providing options and recommendations for resolution.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Min 7 years of Infrastructure Solution Delivery experience with additional field experience on delivering infrastructure solutions in an enterprise-wide environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong leadership, verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams of Infrastructure Engineers in a matrix environment, developing strategies, budgets and deployment plans with the ability to influence senior / mid-level managers in the Business and other Technology organizations.
• Candidate should have working experience on delivering infrastructure solutions, strong organizational skills, and broad experience in delivering on compute, storage and network technologies.
• Strong ability to collaborate across engineering teams and organizations, develop plans, budgets, prioritize work and execute broad understanding of infrastructure concepts in solving business problems.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical solutions in business terms with internal/external clients and various levels of management.
