The Retirement Plan Services Director, National Practice Lead is responsible for defining and leading the implementation of a comprehensive strategy which includes the development of a robust sales process as well as a best in world class model for the delivery of our retirement plan services. Responsibilities will include:

Sales and Business Management

  •  Responsible for the P&L of the business segment and organically growing the RPS business across all regions
  • Works with advisors on pipeline and deal approvals with all appropriate committees
  • Develops and ensures all protocols and systems that support business development efforts -- client and group presentations, Request For Proposal (RFP), pre-call planning, client reporting
  • Ensures product excellence, reviews competitive products, and owns product evolution strategy

Senior Employee Benefits / Retirement Plan Expert

  • Ensures retirement plan services strategy and employee benefit solutions are applied/delivered effectively and consistently across all regions.
  • Ensures advisors expertise across geographies with weekly/monthly Practice calls as appropriate and continuous training
  • Provides input and analysis on employee benefit solutions and strategies for expanding the business and share of wallet.
  • Effectively communicates RPS service quality standards and ensures compliance / regulatory requirements are being met in the field.
  • Ensures Retirement Plan Specialists have the necessary tools to effectively and successfully deliver superior wealth management services and employee benefit plan results.

Leadership

  • Has direct and matrix reporting responsibility for Retirement Plan Services colleagues
  • Collaborates with other National Practice Leads to develop sales strategies and actionable tactics
  • Works closely with Regional Presidents / Regional Executives / Regional Managers to implement sales strategies and report on results
  • Actively supports Huntington's cross-selling environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in retirement plan services / employee benefits, preferably working with high-net worth individual owners and/or mid-large sized corporations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert understanding of all retirement plan services / employee benefit products and services, including applicable legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with the ability to establish and communicate strategic vision to executive management and drive results through implementation
  • Effective sales management skills with proven organic growth track record.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and assignments in a changing environment with competing priorities while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
