The Retirement Plan Services (RPS) Plan and Business Administration Manager is responsible for partnering with the RPS leadership team to define and lead implementation of the retirement plan administration strategy, as well as, monitoring the execution of the overall strategy for the retirement plan business which includes the development of a robust business management process ensuring a best in class model for the delivery of our retirement plan services. Responsibilities will include:

Plan Administration Management

Responsible for managing the plan administration team including plan document preparation and consulting, compliance testing and filings.

Oversee the defined benefit/custody administration team, including execution on transaction processing.

Manage the new business onboarding/off-boarding team working with advisors to efficiently complete conversions and de-conversions.

Supervise the training of direct reports in order to enhance their technical skills so they can better serve our clients.

Provide leadership to direct reports inspiring individuals to take more initiative in their roles.

Business Management

Collaborate with National Practice Leader on future growth planning and evolution of the retirement plan business.

Be an active member of the RPS leadership team and drive all program initiatives toward completion and ensure alignment with company core values and culture.

Own financial reporting for the business including plan data collection strategies ensuring accuracy of metrics required for business management.

Partner with Internal Risk & Compliance to develop and maintain a vendor management strategy related to all systems utilized by the RPS business.

Develop and maintain a record-keeper due diligence process including a record-keeping RFP process for the business and clients.

Co-lead with the National Practice Leader relationship management of all record-keeper partners.

Senior Employee Benefits / Retirement Plan Expert

Partner with RPS leadership team to:

Ensure retirement plan services strategy and employee benefit solutions are applied/delivered effectively and consistently across all regions.

Provide input and analysis on employee benefit solutions and strategies for expanding the business and share of wallet.

Ensure Retirement Plan Advisors have the necessary tools to effectively and successfully deliver superior retirement plan advisory services and employee benefit plan results.


Collaborate with other RPS leaders to develop business management strategies and actionable tactics.

Be an active member of the RPS leadership team by implementing strategies and tactics, and reporting on results to guide future business planning.

Actively support Huntington's business segment partnering environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

10+ years of experience in retirement plan services / employee benefits, preferably working with high-net worth individual owners and/or mid-large sized corporations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Expert understanding of all retirement plan services / employee benefit products and services, including applicable legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with the ability to establish and communicate tactics to drive results through implementation.

Effective management skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and assignments in a changing environment with competing priorities while meeting tight deadline.

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
