Brief Description

The Section Manager of the Loan Boarding team is responsible for managing a team of 14 colleagues that are responsible for boarding and quality review of financial data to AFS for all commercial loans. This position requires adherence to Bank Credit, Compliance and Risk guidelines. The manager is responsible for loan set up of the commercial loans received from Commercial and Industrial, Commercial Real Estate, Private Client Group, Private Equity Group, Auto Finance, Asset Based Lending and Special Assets. This includes boarding of loans to the AFS system through the upfront systems of Velocity and CLOS. Additionally, the Manager must be able to read and interpret complex legal documentation. Ability to read and understand underwriting analysis, terms and conditions is a plus. This team is an Essential Partner to various business areas including the Business Loan Center, Legal, Segment Risk, Finance, and Credit Administration. Team provides support to Loan Closers, Loan Administrator, Relationship and Portfolio Managers.

Detailed Description

The Section Manager leads the Loan Boarding team which is responsible for the following:

  • Booking Loans to the AFS system following Huntington Policies and Legal standards.
  • Quality reviewing loans that were boarded to ensure accuracy and prevent a negative customer experience.
  • Monitoring various suspect reporting to validate that loans were boarded correctly.
  • Monitor and review quality metrics for the team and individuals.
  • Develop plans to help with areas of concern relating to quality issues.
  • Processing complex transactions while working independently to complete the request.
  • Understanding of key metrics such as productivity, quality, and service level and coach team to meet these key metrics.
  • Communicate with teams on a regular basis, monthly team meetings and monthly 1:1's with colleagues.
  • Monitoring various work queues and reports to ensure that work is completed accurately and within service level agreements.
  • Participating and/or leading CI initiatives, special projects, testing, procedure creation/updates, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of operations experience to include a minimum of two years managing a team or working as a Team Lead

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years managing a team or working as a Team Lead of colleagues in an operations environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of KPI's and other tools used to assess team performance.
  • Demonstrated success of leading a team of colleagues while meeting the demands of a high volume; deadline driven environment.
  • Expected to meet daily processing requirements especially those relating to financial transactions.
  • Familiarity with interpreting attorney prepared loan documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as organizational skills are required
  • Must have excellent PC skills to include Microsoft Office software
  • AFS, HAWC, Velocity, EDR, and other HNB mainframe systems is preferred
  • Experience supporting Commercial Lending, Business Banking and Special Asset colleagues in a servicing capacity is preferred
  • Ability to interact with internal and external customers to achieve positive results while working in a fast-paced, production environment.
